Young dill can attract beneficial wasps and hoverflies; mature dill near heading brassicas is more controversial—plan dill as an early neighbor or at row ends.
In the garden
- Sow dill a few weeks after brassica transplants, away from the main heads you will harvest for weeks.
- Remove or cut back dill before it shades small brassicas.
Spacing & timing
Keep dill upwind or at row ends so you can remove it without disturbing roots.
Caveats
- Some growers avoid heavy dill right next to heading cabbage—split the row if space allows.
